Mannie Burn Mannie is co-owner and executive director of Velo. She leads on all aspects of learning and development and is responsible for education, standards, staffing and ongoing development. With over 30 years’ experience in education, Mannie worked her way through the education system from music teacher to leader of a school. In 2009, she qualified as a leadership coach. Since 2010, Mannie has facilitated and trained professional development programmes for education professionals, through the Best Practice Network. She is also a tutor and assessor for the Early Years Initial Teacher Training programme and has experience as a freelance part-time Early Years Ofsted inspector. Mannie’s background and passion guarantees the highest standards of safety and care whilst making learning with Velo exciting and stimulating for all. |
Richard Sale Richard is non-executive director, responsible for our strategic vision, organisational development and staff supervision. Richard began his career as an architect, eventually hiring a team and founding a professional practice in 1990. More recently, Richard has developed a deep interest in human psychology and now works as a psychotherapist, coach and supervisor. He also teaches part-time at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. |
James Sale James is responsible for the design of our building. He owns Co-db, a design and build company, and is part of the award-winning Pop-Up Parks team that provides innovative play spaces for children under 5. Having worked in architectural practice, James now teaches on the Architecture course at The Bartlett, UCL. He also guides us on children’s learning in the city environment. |
